Beauty of Life Academy: A Fusion of Art and Architecture

Wang Cheng and Li Yongjie's Award-Winning Design Transforms Commercial Space

The Beauty of Life Academy, located in Shunyi, China, is a testament to the transformative power of design. Covering an area of 502 square meters, this sales office is far from ordinary. It was completed in August 2019, after a design and construction period of 40 days.

The designers, Wang Cheng and Li Yongjie, drew inspiration from the Peach Blossom Spring, a Chinese fable that speaks of a utopian land of harmony and tranquility. This inspiration is evident in the design's unique properties, which transform the commercial space into an artistic and aesthetic space. The combination of streamline and light and shadow creates tension, highlighting the charm of modern architecture.

Various materials were used in the realization of this design, including golden Mocha stone, GRG glass fiber board, woodwork, special texture paint, and stainless steel. The process involved GRG artistic modeling, a 3600mm-length special-shaped lamp belt, seamless imitation copper electric door, invisible air-conditioning outlet, and ceiling shrinkage seam.

The design's interaction is another unique aspect. Upon entering the lobby, visitors are guided by flowing curved lines from the art gallery into the central exhibition area. The boundaries between spaces are diluted, creating an immersive aesthetic flow curve space. This design encourages rhythm, fun, and relaxed interactive conversation.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was breaking through the U-shaped architectural space layout and the plain space experience. This was achieved by creating a space experience of fluidity, rhythm, and interest through the use of curves. The result is an aesthetic art space that uses landscape to engage visitors.

The Beauty of Life Academy was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
